We'd like to say a huge thank you to Helen Browning’s Royal Oak in Bishopstone, who very kindly provided ready meals to our staff during the COVID19 pandemic.
The pub created delicious, mostly organic and, where possible, locally sourced meals for the night staff to eat easily on the go. They were made from meat and dairy from Helen Browning’s Eastbrook Farm in Bishopstone and fresh vegetables from Coleshill Organic down the road.
They started with £10k from two supportive local donors. This provided the night shift staff at the GWH with 100 meals, three days a week, for 7 weeks. Their fudraising continued and they raised £20k which meant that the meals could continue.
It was a wonderful partnership and our staff really enjoyed the fabulous grub!
