Be a Superhero for our Superheroes…
Looking for some inspiration for your exercise during the lockdown?
Why not take on our virtual Superhero run/jog/walk and support our frontline Superheroes at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust during this difficult time.
You can run, jog or walk and it is open to any age. You can choose your own distance - from 1km to a marathon!
Why not dress as a Superhero and have some fun too (remember not all Superheroes wear capes, think of all those frontline heroes and essential workers, working so hard for us all at this current time.)
We ask that you adhere to all the government guidelines to undertake this activity.
You can do this either individually, with members from your own household or with upto 6 friends not from your household only (socially distanced at least 2m apart).
You must practice social distancing and stay at least 2 metres (6 ft) away from other people.
Please do not undertake any exercise if you are feeling unwell or have symptoms of COVID-19.
By taking part you will be helping Brighter Futures with our COVID-19 support appeal that is raising money to support the staff and patients on our wards and community teams impacted by the virus.
We do have some lovely Superhero medals (recycled from previous events), for a small donation (we will have to pay the postage!) as a reward. The cost is £10 per adult and £5 per child (under 16). We have approximately 300 medals which will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
If you don’t want a medal, you can still take part, we appreciate that not everyone is in a good financial place at the moment.
There is no rush to complete this task, the event will be live for some time. However, we will change the rules if the lockdown changes.
When you have finished your activity, please share your photos on our social media sites -Facebook: @brighterfuturesgwh, Twitter: @BF_NHS and Intstagram: brighterfuturesnhs. This will really give all of the employees at the Trust a massive lift.
To claim your medal, please take a picture during your activity, or a picture of your sports watch/strava reading and email to: email@example.com and we will then send in the post.
