Innovation Projects
It was back in 1871 that the blue print for the National Health Service was founded by staff from the Great Western Railway. Swindon, has had its very own take on the NHS for the last 150 years or so. An NHS, that has not only boasted dentists and chiropodists but swimming pools, Turkish baths and oh a fundraising dog called Bruce! To read more about the impact our town had on the NHS click here.
Since then the extraordinary continues to happen every day with the Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. From receiving emergency treatment in the Great Western Hospital’s A&E department, welcoming your first child in the White Horse maternity suite, getting the special support needed in the Neonatal Unit, supporting an elderly loved one, receiving chemotherapy treatment via the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit, being supported at home by our community health service or receiving cutting-edge 3D printed technology for a complex hip replacement. We’re transforming lives daily in and around Swindon and Wiltshire.
Our healthcare service saves lives, renews hope and restores health. As a charity, Brighter Futures relies on your generosity to support every patient and every family that needs our help. By supporting the Hospital's General Fund you will be instrumental in creating a warm, comfortable environment for our patients, supporting research and education and giving patients access to cutting-edge treatments and therapies. Fundraising can provide valuable support for desirable projects which are either unaffordable to the Trust, or outside the core funding responsibilities of the NHS, click here to read about the difference donations to the General Fund have made.
Your generosity helps us to address high-priority needs throughout the Foundation Trust so we’re prepared to care for you and your family in the future. A gift today will help us fulfil our promise to care for the health and well-being of our community and supporters like you.
