Choir to sing for shoppers in aid of Radiotherapy Appeal

The Great Western Harmony choir will be treating shoppers at Sainsbury's in Stratton St Margaret to a morning of Christmas carols whilst raising money for our Radiotherapy Appeal.

Teresa Harding, Divisional Director for Women's and Children's Services, has been a member of the choir since its formation last year and hopes that shoppers will dig deep to help the cause.   She said: "Christmas is a time for giving and thinking about others less fortunate and I know that the people of Swindon will continue to get behind the appeal and give generously this festive season.   "Having a radiotherapy centre closer to home will make the world of difference to so many people at one of the most difficult times in their lives and I, for one, really can't think of a better Christmas present that will benefit the whole town for years to come.   "We're all really looking forward to getting out there on Saturday and adding some festive cheer to people's Christmas shopping."

This weekend is set to be bumper one for our charity - on Sunday 6th December, more than 500 people will don a pair of novelty antlers for our annual Reindeer Run at Coate Water.

Already the Reindeer Run has generated more than £11,000 for the Radiotherapy Appeal however our target is £20,000 and we need everyone to help raise the suggested target of £40 which is equivalent to a tank of petrol required by a cancer patient to travel just once to Oxford for Radiotherapy treatment.
