Leaves make way for Butterflies

The Leaf your Mark memorial wall on the ground floor of the Great Western Hospital is moving to a new location next week, making way for a new Butterfly Wall.

The display, which has been a proud feature of the main ground floor corridor since the hospital opened in 2002, will move to a new home on the first floor of the hospital next week.

Over the past 14 years Leaf your Mark has raised vital funds for Brighter Futures. Local friends and relatives have made donations for each leaf, which is displayed in memory of a loved one, often with messages of hope and thanks.

We have decided to update the scheme with a new butterfly wall to reflect our  identity as a local charity improving the lives of NHS patients and staff.

The Butterfly Wall is expected to be in place by September and all donations will go towards Brighter Futures Radiotherapy Appeal, which is raising money to help make radiotherapy available in Swindon.

Anyone will be able to name a butterfly in memory of a loved one, in exactly the same way they have in the past with the leaves.

Leaf your Mark will remain a permanent fixture in the hospital and we will be adding our new Butterfly Wall as a unique and personal way of supporting the Radiotherapy Appeal. Find out more here.
