New CFM machine in SCBU to help premature babies

We are so grateful to Trevor Goodall and everyone who fundraised for his charity, New Life. New Life is a registered charity dedicated to raising money for local special care baby units increasing the chance of survival for many premature and seriously ill babies.

Trevor popped in this week with his fundraising colleagues to present a cheque for £16,000 to the Brighter Futures SCBU funds in order that Dr Sarah Bates could purchase and use a new CFM machine to improve care on the ward .

Pictured  is Max, a 3 ½ year old little boy who was a patient in SCBU.  Max accepted the cheque on SCBU’s behalf and is living proof of the need to support SCBU fundraising.

Max needed CFM monitoring after he was born premtarely and went on to receive cooling therapy in Bristol. He is now a healthy and happy toddler – a credit to the successes of CFM & cooling. His mum, Jo spoke eloquently about the importance of CFM.
